Georgia has given the Internet another unexpected comedy moment, and this one came from a police encounter in Atlanta. A video showing an officer struggling to arrest a man has gone viral, with Reddit users turning the chaotic scene into a series of jokes.
The footage, posted on r/PublicFreakout, shows an Atlanta police officer attempting to arrest a Black man on a public street. Neither the man’s identity nor the reason for the attempted arrest has been publicly confirmed.
The video shows the officer grabbing the man from behind, but the man immediately begins twisting and struggling to break free. For around 30 seconds, the two wrestle and turn in circles as the officer repeatedly tries to get control of him.
At one point, they end up on the ground, with the officer lying flat on his back while the man is positioned directly above him. The unusual angle led viewers to joke that the footage looked more like a movie scene than a police encounter.
Eventually, the man breaks free and takes off running, with the officer sprinting after him.

Reddit users wasted no time joking about the officer’s apparent difficulty holding onto the man. “He keeps slipping away like happiness,” one commenter wrote. Another compared the man’s ability to escape to a famous animated character, saying, “He was a slippery *expletive* lmfao. It’s like the greased-up deaf guy from Family Guy.”

Some viewers were more focused on how the struggle looked on camera. “Thought they were going to kiss for a moment,” one person joked about the extended moment when the officer ended up on his back.
