Smallville actors Michael Rosenbaum, Tom Welling, and Ian Somerhalder had a mini-reunion at Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con over the weekend. Rosenbaum, who played the iconic Superman villain Lex Luthor in the hit CW series, shared this news via Twitter:

Ian Somerhalder didn’t have as large of a role compared to Welling and Rosenbaum as his character, Adam Knight, only appeared for a few episodes in season three. Welling starred as Clark Kent in this Superman prequel series for the entirety of the show’s 10-year run.

Recently, there has been some talk of Smallville returning in some form, either as a full-blown revival or as an animated series. At Awesome Con earlier this year, Welling and Rosenbaum brought up the suggestion of continuing Smallville in animation.

When responding to a fan’s question regarding a potential revival, Welling said: “I mean, animated could be fun.”

Rosenbaum also appeared to be on board with this idea, saying: “I said to Al [Gough], we should do an animated Smallville. That would be huge! I mean, Smallville: The Animated Series, with all the real voices? And I wouldn’t have to shave my head! We’ve got to do that. Can you imagine us on mics doing the same dialogue?”

Along with Rosenbaum and Welling, Smallville star Kristin Kreuk has also shown interest in being apart of an animated revival. Allison Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan in the series, most likely won’t be included in any type of reunion. This is due to the recent news of the actress being arrested for her role in a sex cult. Mack is currently awaiting trial and could face at least 15 years in prison if convicted.
