A Quiet Placeย is one of 2018’s biggest blockbusters, so it’s not surprising a sequel has been devised.
And when can you expect to see the said sequel? May 15th, 2020.

Of course, the original A Quiet Place was notable for being The Office star John Krasinski’s directorial debut. Having done so well with the first, will he return for the second film?
Talking to Collider, producer Andrew Form confirmed Krasinski‘s involvement.
Oh [Krasinski is] definitely involved. Weโre lucky on this one. Iโve had movies where the studio says to you, โHereโs your date. Letโs go!โ and on this one weโre not rushing anything, which is amazing. So weโre gonna take our time, weโre gonna figure out where to go, but there is no rush on it and weโre just starting to talk about it. Weโre figuring out what everyoneโs involvementโs gonna be and what the actual next movieโs gonna be. The first one is so special to us that we really want to take our time with this and not rush anything.
Indeed, A Quiet Place was special to a lot of people. It currently holds an impressive 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earned $332.6 million worldwide. Critics praised the use of silence to convey horror in the movie as well as its deep themes and commentary on parenthood.
Form understands the significance of the first film, which is why he emphasized the careful approach chosen for the second:
Itโs such a special movie to us, the experience and everything. Itโs easy to rush these and weโve made movies in the past where weโve rushed them through and weโve felt it, and we just donโt wanna do it on this one. We really donโt. We really just wanna take our time and as long as it takes, it takes. It has to be the right story, just like the first one. It just has to be.
