A little girl in Missouri broke down in tears as she pleaded with ICE agents to bring back her detained father.
The girl’s mother shared a video showing her daughter crying as she addressed the ICE agents. The mother wrote over the footage, “Her message to the ICE agents withholding her dad.” As the girl continued crying, she pleaded with the agents, asking, “Can you give my dad back?”
The girl continued crying as she pleaded with the ICE agents who had detained her father. “Please? Give my dad back. I need him,” she said. The video ended with the girl still crying and coughing as she struggled through her tears.
The girl’s mother provided more context in the caption, claiming that her husband was legally in the country. “First – my husbands legal, he did everything the correct way. Two – she thought making a video to the officers that took him would work, so here it is. I know this conversation is uncomfortable for some but it’s our real life so, maybe wake up???” the mother wrote.
The family also set up a GoFundMe campaign for the girl’s father and asked people for financial support. “Help Bring My Brother Home. I’m creating this fundraiser for my brother, Luis, and our family during this incredibly difficult time,” his sister wrote.
The sister also pushed back against the idea that her brother was in the country illegally. “Luis has lived in the United States since he was just two years old. He is a hardworking husband and father of six. He has a valid work permit and a pending I-130, so our family is heartbroken and confused about why he was taken into immigration custody while working on the road,” she wrote. She then asked for financial support so his attorney could attend the bond hearing and help bring him home. As of now, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $4,676.
