A quiet afternoon by the water turned into a tense confrontation when an older Florida couple approached a Muslim family on a pier and began telling them to leave. The family, which included a woman wearing a hijab and a young child, had been standing by the railing and looking out at the ocean when the couple started confronting them.
The exchange quickly became heated, with the couple making comments about the family’s religion and America before the confrontation ended with one of them slipping and falling on the wooden dock.
The woman, who was wearing a black “Welcome to Rockville” T-shirt, sunglasses, and a straw hat, appeared to do most of the confronting. She pointed toward the family and told the woman in the hijab, “Go back to your Muslim country. If you don’t love America, just get the *expletive* out.”
The man accompanying her also joined in, saying, “The Muslim community is out of control.” The woman then declared, “We are for America. America first!”
The family largely remained quiet during the confrontation, while other people nearby began telling the couple to leave them alone. “They weren’t doing anything to you. You came up to them,” one person said. “Leave them alone. Go home. Why are you guys bothering them?”
The couple continued the exchange for a short time as the people recording repeatedly told them to stop bothering the family.
The confrontation eventually began to wind down, with the couple walking away from the family. But as the woman started leaving, she appeared to lose her balance on the wooden pier and fell hard onto the boards.
People in the background could be heard laughing after the fall, as the people recording leave the scene and ask them to get their ”life together.”
The video was shared on TikTok by @shayxangelica. The footage does not show the family initiating the exchange or escalating the confrontation.
