A New York woman’s apartment tour is turning heads as she claims the movers she hired to get her stuff out didn’t do a thorough job. In fact, from the looks of it, she was left with a rather nasty mess to clean up.
Posted by Ella (TikTok/Ellainnyc), she prefaces her video with, “HOW PIECE OF CAKE MOVING LEFT MY APARTMENT:” and gives a quick tour. In the kitchen, most of the cupboards are empty, save for a few still with boxes left behind. However, the counter is the worst, with junk and garbage all over it. Not to mention spilled frozen food on the floor!
Then Ella’s landlord walks into the bathroom and shows the mess they left behind. They get a look at the toilet, which is disgustingly filled with feces, and comments, “Literal [expletive] in the toilet” (but is surprisingly the cleanest room in the apartment otherwise).
Continuing into the living room, which still has a chair left behind, along with even more trash and clothing. Ella’s bedroom is very much the same, with numerous items of hers still strewn about the floor.
As Ella asks her audience, “And I was charged extra?!” She adds that the mess they left behind isn’t the only thing she noticed. Angrily, she accuses the movers of taking some of her belongings. In the comments, she claims, “A TV, 2 bottles of scotch, and my ID are mysteriously missing.”
Commenters react to Ella’s bad moving experience
Seeing the mess left behind, viewers were just as appalled by the apartment as Ella, with many sharing similar experiences with the same moving company. And of course commenters took the opportunity to make some pretty funny observations.
“The poop in the toilet would’ve sent me,” one viewer wrote. Ella replied, saying it made the landlord gasp. A TikTok user gave sound advice: “The reason why I tell ppl my toilet is not for public use.”
Others shared their disappointment with Piece of Cake Moving & Storage. Several said the company was banned from being used in their building. Another said they caught a mover stealing a watch. “We have never used them again.”
Ella has since contacted the moving company directly, hoping to resolve the problem before filing a complaint. In the comments, she gave an update, stating: “They’ve offered a refund and to back and pack up the remaining items.”
