‘It’s the Epstein Party’: Hardcore Christian Rep. Brett Easterbrook Arrested for Alleged Human Trafficking & Prostitution in Alabama

That wasn’t in the bible… or was it?

Alabama Republican state Rep. Brett Easterbrook is facing first-degree human trafficking and prostitution charges after being arrested in Escambia County during a multi-agency undercover operation, prompting fierce backlash online from critics accusing Republicans of hypocrisy over so-called “family values.”

Easterbrook, who represents Alabama’s District 65 and has served in the state Legislature since 2018, was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center on Oct. 2, according to jail records and local news reports. The 63-year-old Fruitdale resident was released less than 30 minutes after being booked. However, his bond information was not listed.

Authorities have not publicly released detailed allegations explaining what led to Easterbrook’s arrest. The charges remain allegations, and he has not been convicted of any crime. The Republican lawmaker was among three Alabama public officials arrested in connection with the prostitution sting.

Kory Wesley, president of the Satsuma City School Board, was charged with first-degree human trafficking and attempting to elude law enforcement. Timothy Tucker, Orange Beach’s public works director, was separately arrested and charged with prostitution. Wesley, who has served on the Satsuma school board since 2022 and works as an IT technical services manager for Infirmary Health Systems in Mobile, was also released shortly after his booking.

Satsuma City Schools acknowledged Wesley’s arrest but declined to comment on the allegations, saying officials were mindful of the impact the case could have on students, families and employees and would “respect the legal process.”

Eastbrook’s Arrest Ignited Backlash Against the GOP

The arrests quickly resulted in a political firestorm on social media, particularly among users who connected the allegations to Republican politicians’ frequent emphasis on Christianity and “family values” and Brett Eastbrook’s vigilance against the LGBTQ community. One critic called the arrests an example of “Alabama and Christian hypocrisy on full display.”

Others were considerably more blunt. “Another Republican human trafficker,” one commenter posted, while another wrote, “Look ma, it’s another MAGA sleazebag.” One user questioned why someone accused of sexual wrongdoing would publicly present themselves as a morally superior Christian, asking whether “one can justify the other.” Another added the obvious, “These ‘Christians’ who promote ‘family values’ are as far away from the actual teachings of Jesus Christ as it’s possible to be.”

Several commenters also invoked former President Donald Trump and the Jeffrey Epstein controversy, with one post declaring, “It’s the Epstein Party” and accusing Republicans of hiding behind claims of Christian morality. The online reaction, however, goes well beyond what has been established in the case.

There is currently no evidence in the provided reports that Easterbrook was involved with Epstein, nor do the charges themselves establish that he committed any additional crimes beyond the allegations filed against him. The investigation remains ongoing, and the legal process will determine what actually occurred.
