On a Wisconsin highway, two drivers trying to settle a score forget that, on a public road, everyone’s safety is at risk. Reddit user Intl_SpaceSatan shared their dashcam footage on r/IdiotsInCars, headlined with the very crucial “reminder not to engage with road rage.” At the start of the video, drama was already afoot between a white sedan and a gray minivan, though the details of the fuss aren’t clear.
After almost a minute of driving, SpaceSatan’s dashcam shows the two drivers again, and this time the minivan seems out for vengeance. It tailgates the sedan, crawling towards its rear at high speed on the highway. Then, without warning, the sedan driver performs an incredibly aggressive brake check on the minivan, sending it swerving left, directly in front of SpaceSatan.
It smashed into the concrete barrier, then swerved back into SpaceSatan’s lane and right into their car. “For a second I thought I dodged it,” OP recalled. The shocker was that this wasn’t solely two reckless adults having a fit on a highway either. “No one was hurt, but the van had a child in the car,” SpaceSatan said in disbelief. “So I have no idea what he was thinking.”
Fortunately, no one was reportedly hurt. Still, thousands of Redditors couldn’t believe how thoughtlessly two drivers’ road rage endangered multiple people out on the Wisconsin highway, with SpaceSatan taking a hit despite being involved. “Could have killed so many people,” a commenter wrote in shock.
Redditors were rather torn on who exactly was at fault, though just about everyone agreed that the two drivers should not have been fighting in the first place, on a high-speed road, no less. “I feel like any minivan shouldn’t be engaging in any road rage activities,” remarked a user. “Guy that brake checked should lose his license,” demanded another.
The White Sedan Didn’t Stop and Fled the Scene
Several people wondered whether SpaceSatan was able to catch the license plate number of the one who triggered the collision with his brake check. He didn’t stop after seeing the van crash and drove off; OP says that they did hand over the dashcam footage to the police. “Hopefully they can do something with it,” they commented. “Given the state of that car, I’m guessing they pull this sort of thing all the time.”
This video showcases how road rage can affect anyone out on the road, not just whoever is involved. SpaceSatan sees a silver lining in all the chaos, though: “Honestly, just happy I caught the white car at all. Now everyone I know is getting a dash cam for Christmas lol.”
