Florida congressional candidate Mark Davis has made challenging the MAGA movement a central part of his political identity. Now, a video he shared shows him trading profanities with a man on a suburban street, prompting viewers to question the confrontation and his behavior as a candidate for Congress.
Davis is running without party affiliation for Florida’s 16th Congressional District, where Republican Sydney Gruters and Democrat Kelly Kirschner are also competing for the seat. The district’s current representative, Vern Buchanan, is stepping down after 20 years in Congress.
Davis, a U.S. Air Force veteran and small-business owner, has positioned his campaign around government accountability, universal healthcare, and opposition to President Donald Trump’s administration.
The latest video, shared on X by @MarkMadDogDavis, features a heated exchange between Davis and a bald man wearing a black long-sleeve fishing shirt and black shorts. They appear to trade insults as Davis films the encounter while walking through a residential neighborhood.
“You’re a *expletive* idiot,” the man says. “You’re a *expletive* idiot,” Davis replies.
“Get back in your *expletive* house, *expletive*,” the man tells him. “No,” Davis responds.
The exchange continues when the man pauses before challenging Davis, saying, “Touch me.”
“*expletive* touch me, dude,” Davis fires back.
The man then calls Davis a swear word. Davis repeats the insult before adding, “You little fucking pedophile protector.”
The man subsequently tells Davis to say something about “why do you lose?” The video ends without establishing what prompted the argument or whether the confrontation escalated beyond the verbal exchange.
Davis captioned the footage, “Love My MAGA Neighborhood!” The caption appears to frame the encounter as another example of the political tensions he says he has experienced living in conservative Florida. His campaign website describes his move to the state as an experience that brought him into what he calls the “frontlines of a political warzone.”

He also made headlines in January 2026 after revealing that he had purchased the domain name nazis.us and configured it to redirect visitors to the Department of Homeland Security’s website as a protest against the Trump administration.
