Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett posted on X in response to comments from Attorney General Todd Blanche about the Justice Department examining voting systems and potential election-related issues in several states. In the post, Crockett accused Blanche and the administration of planning to “play games with the election,” described him as still acting like Trump’s personal attorney, and said democracy belongs to the people. Online users reacted to the post by frequently referencing Crockett’s March 2026 loss in the Texas Democratic Senate primary to James Talarico and describing her as no longer relevant to the race.
The CBS News video shows Blanche responding to questions about whether the Justice Department is looking at other states similarly to its actions in California. In the clip, he says, “There are some states that we’re looking at,” and adds, “I don’t want to get ahead of the civil lawyers working on those cases.”
He states, “We have meaningful evidence that there are people who are not eligible to vote,” explaining that “they’re either here illegally or they have status so they’re here illegally, but they’re not citizens that are registered to vote in these states.”
Blanche notes that in some states, such as California, “every single person registered to vote gets a ballot,” and says, “everybody should be as concerned as I am,” adding that he remains “to be frustrated that others are not.”
According to Crockett’s post, “Todd Blanche and this corrupt administration are already planning to play games with the election.” She wrote that “old habits die hard because this man is still acting like Trump’s personal attorney” and that “Our democracy does not belong to Trump and his sellout friends. It belongs to the people.”
Blanche previously served as a personal attorney for Donald Trump before taking his current role. The footage focuses on voting systems and eligibility and does not show separate remarks about a possible “doomsday scenario” involving state certification processes reported in other coverage.

Responses to Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s Post on X
Many focused on Crockett’s loss in the March 2026 Texas Democratic Senate primary. One user said, “Remember when you lost big time in the primary,” while another wrote, “You were voted OUT by your constituents. You’re irrelevant!”
A third added, “Have you cleaned out your desk yet?”
Others defended the substance of Blanche’s comments on voter eligibility. One user said, “Stopping people from voting who aren’t American citizens is NOT playing games. That’s enforcing the law on the books!!”
Another wrote, “Thank goodness we have Todd!!”
A third stated, “It’s democrats who are playing games… and the Justice Department has a constitutional civil rights duty to protect election integrity!”
For now, Crockett’s reply has become part of the ongoing online discussion around Blanche’s comments on voting systems. Some continue to question her standing after the primary, while others focus on the substance of the attorney general’s remarks about voter eligibility.
