A Georgia woman’s dispute over shoes on display turned into a heated confrontation with a thrift store manager. Before long, God and the police had both been brought into the argument. The exchange divided viewers, with some defending the creator and others questioning how she handled the situation.
Posted to TikTok by @autumngraceofficial, the video starts mid-conversation with the Georgia creator questioning the manager. “So why didn’t you sell me the shoes that you put on the rack?” she asks. But the manager has a demand of her own. “You better get her out of here and you better get her out of here now,” she says.
The creator tells her, “You need God.” That’s when the manager reaches for Autumn’s phone, prompting a warning that she’ll call the police if touched. In response, the manager again tells her to leave and threatens to call the police herself.
In the caption, Autumn says she didn’t press charges but thinks the manager should treat people better. She had wanted to visit for a while and says everyone else there was kind.
TikTok Can’t Decide Who Crossed the Line
The creator’s mention of God had viewers going back and forth. “Maybe don’t force your religion on other people. Just a thought,” one wrote. But another pushed back, arguing that telling someone they need God isn’t forcing religion on them. They said Christians were called to share the gospel and had no plans to stop.
Meanwhile, commenters familiar with the Georgia store had stories of their own. One recalled a similar disagreement over a chair. “She told me a price then told me it wasn’t for sale!” they shared. “I was so upset. I don’t go there anymore.” Another praised a man working there for being helpful but criticized the manager’s attitude. “NO ONE has the rights to just come up and put their hands on anyone !!!!” they added.
However, some viewers put the blame squarely on the creator. “Be the bigger person and just walk away,” someone suggested. Another was more direct. “You’re wrong. She said leave you stayed.” A third argued that forgiving the manager and praying for her would have been the real Christian response.
There’s still plenty we don’t know about the confrontation, and we only have the creator’s side of the story. But the mention of God was enough to get the comments going. Even a dispute over shoes can turn into something much bigger once religion enters the conversation.
