One of the most polarizing games of 2019 in Jump Force will finally be able to be tried by all of the respective anime fanbases with an open beta later in January. For the unaware, Jump Force is a new Bandai Namco fighting game that brings in characters from a myriad of different anime franchises. Why so polarizing and not just an instant home run? Well, the art direction is certainly an interesting direction to go and the inclusion/exclusion of certain characters will always make fanbases go up in arms.
Sorry, back to the beta details. Per a press release from 1/10:
The open beta will give players access to the game’s online versus mode where they can play as 17 characters from the final game, battle across five stages, and test out the online lobby using six preset avatars.
The JUMP FORCE open beta will be available for players to pre-load on their Xbox One and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment systems beginning January 17th.
The open beta will be available for four three-hour sessions on the following dates:
Session 1
Friday, January 18th at 4:00am – 7:00am PST
Session 2
Friday, January 18th at 9:00pm – 12:00am PST
Session 3
Saturday, January 19th at 8:00am – 11:00am PST
Session 4
Sunday, January 20th at 12:00pm – 3:00pm PST
I am gosh darn excited for it. A beta with 17 available characters and 5 stages seems insane. The times are reasonable-ish and should give the opportunity for each time zone to have an optimal time to try it out. Every video I have seen of gameplay has looked a bit messy with the camera perspective and how it reacts to combat. With that being said, I can’t wait to dive in and see if I can create some of the epic fights and moments that are usually reserved for an r/whowouldwin thread.
