Star Wars fans will be getting to learn a lot more about the galaxy far far away with a new novel and comic book series. Both of which will revolve around the same time period. The official Star Wars website revealed new details on what to expect later this year.

Star Wars: Tie Fighter is the upcoming comic book miniseries on the way this spring. Marvel Comics and Del Rey announced the series, along with Alphabet Squadron, the novel surrounding TIE fighter pilots as they protect what is most important to the Empire.

“From a certain point of view, the rebels are traitors to the Empire, putting the innocent people of the galaxy at risk. In the last days of the Galactic Civil War, an elite squadron of TIE fighter pilots, known as Shadow Wing, is assembled to protect Imperial interests.”

Tie Fighter will coincide with Alexander Freed’s Alphabet Squadron, the first novel in a set of three to be released this April. The series will be set after the destruction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi and follows the Empire as they deal with the aftermath of the Republic victory.

Eisner-nominated comic writer Jody Houser is penning the miniseries.

She previously worked on Marvel’s Star Wars: Thrawn and the comic book tie in with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Art for Tie Fighter is done by Rogê Antônio, and cover art by the team Giuseppe Camuncoli and Elia Bonetti. Houser posted to social media saying,

“I guess I can talk about this now! I’m not done writing Star Wars comics just yet… Coming later this year from @Marvel is TIE FIGHTER, a companion comic series to @AlexanderMFreed’s ALPHABET SQUADRON novel trilogy! #StarWars #TieFighter #AlphabetSquadron.”
