A new easter egg in The Division 2 (as first discovered by AC Wiki user AlifMorrisonudin and YouTuber JorRaptor) has possibly shown some interesting information about the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series. While playing near the JFK center in The Division 2, a character is pointing at a poster. What we see in the poster is whats interesting. The poster near the JFK center held an image of a person in a tunic with a helmet of some kind. The person in the tunic, when zoomed in even closer, could be seen holding the Apple of Eden. The Apple of Eden was previously shown throughout a good majority of the Assassin’s Creed games. The text above the man in the poster is revealed to be Valhalla. Valhalla meaning the afterlife for the Vikings and within the Norse mythology. This does not directly correlate with a Viking themed or a Norse themed Assassin’s Creed game. Even though we have seen Ubisoft tease new games in their already released games before. Watch Dogs 2 had a tease for Watch Dogs 3. If this new image is anything to speculate, its there may be a new Assassin’s Creed game coming very soon.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the latest in the lineup for Ubisoft’s beloved franchise. The game, much like with Origins, included much on the mythology of times they were set in. That being Greek myth for Odyssey and Ancient Egyptian myth for Origins. If there was a focus on the Norse mythology for their newest Assassin’s Creed game, it wouldn’t surprise if they included some of it as side quests or even main quests. Along with the figures in the myth themselves, there are the weapons from Norse myth. This could include something like Thor’s hammer as a weapon.
To further back up this claim, a previous Ubisoft employee Michel Nucera, talked during an interview of a new Assassin’s Creed game referenced as Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok. Michel Nucera, concept artist for Ubisoft, shared some images of Viking themed assassins. One image was that of a Viking Hell and the other that of a Viking owned bay near the water. For now, Nucera has stated that work is only personal fan art and not to be taken as anything serious. This could all change as more information is presented to us about a new Assassin’s Creed game whenever Ubisoft decides to do so.
