Eddie Brock and Venom are the ultimate comic book couple. They’ve been in an on and off, love, hate relationship since the ’80s. They need each other, they want each other. Not in a romantic way, but one is synonymous with the other. Recently, the two have gone their separate ways as the symbiote left Eddie to look after his son, Dylan. As we all know, Eddie can’t live without his significant symbiote other for long and will soon be looking to get Venom back, even if he has to use other means.
Marvels War of the Realms event has recently kicked off in dramatic fashion as Dark Elf Malekith has unleashed a world of pain on to the earth, leaving our heroes to clean up as usual. In the upcoming Venom #13, Eddie will become Venom once more, however, not by bonding with the symbiote but rather through dark elf magic.
Sought out by Malekiths war witches he is offered exactly what he wants, the chance to become Venom once again. As you can see from the pictures, using the dreamstone Eddie is transformed into a new version of Venom, one he states is the same, but different.
It’ll be exciting to see just what this version of Venom will become, what powers he has and what the original symbiote will say about it. I’m sure he won’t be too happy about being replaced, hopefully leading to some epic fights and soul searching.
We won’t have too long to wait for a new look at Venom. Issue 13 hits stores on the 24th of April giving fans more of a look at the character and hopefully an idea of what side he’ll fight for. Although, I don’t hold out much hope for the side of goodness, at least not to start. I just want a Venom vs Venom fight and I’m sure I’ll get it.
