In a build up to the final film of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, Lucasfilm reveals a series of books and comics tied to the final story. Fans will have plenty to hold them over until the movie’s release this December. Michael Siglain, Lucasfilm creative director of publishing, stated:
The Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker publishing program is our biggest and boldest film tie-in program yet. We’ve got exceptionally talented authors, artists, and publishers creating content for fans of all ages. While these titles will include some hints and Easter eggs for the new film, the majority of these titles will feature all-new stories set following the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Our ‘Journey to’ books and comics will star Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and, of course, Leia, Chewie, the droids, and the First Order. Here, you’ll get a glimpse at both the state of the galaxy and some of the ongoing battles between the Resistance and the First Order.”
Pre-orders begin early next week, but fans will still be able to find the books online or at their locals stores on their release date. There are books for children, teens, and adults. Some of the most interesting titles are detailed below!
Star Wars: Resistance Reborn is for young adult readers and it follows the Resistance’s attempts to rebuild after their defeat in The Last Jedi. It will be on sale November 12th, 2019.
Star Wars: We are the Resistance is for kid readers following the heroes of Star Wars as they fight against the First Order and retell battles from The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens. It is on sale October 4th, 2019.
The Ultimate Star Wars – New Edition, is an adult encyclopedia of all the characters, creatures, locations, vehicles, and technology of the entire Star Wars galaxy. It will be available on October 4th, 2019.
