Sometimes, something bought for cheap isn’t the most cost-friendly option, especially if that something is an entire truck. Reddit user MrPickels4U, who presumably resides in Wisconsin, bought a GMC truck allegedly at a discount, but just two days later, the vehicle burst into a raging fire. Sharing the aftermath on r/Wellthatsucks, MrPickels4U says that he got a call to come back home, only to see his new truck melting away in flames.
“A serious WTF moment,” is what MrPickels4U called it. “Well now you know why there was a discount. Seriously though, glad you were not hurt. Let the insurance deal with that,” wrote a commenter. Naturally, if OP wasn’t present when the fire broke out, he wasn’t injured, though he didn’t report anyone else getting hurt as a result. Still, the fiery truck is awfully close to a house and rather dry-looking trees and leaves, making the scene quite alarming.
Reddit Shamed the Truck’s Wheels
In a surprise turn of events, some Redditors began blasting the truck’s wheels, as if it deserved it. “Truck is embarrassed to be seen on those rims,” joked a commenter, with hundreds upvoting in agreement. “Self immolated out of shame,” chimed in another. “I like how OP is only replying to comments making fun of his terrible wheels,” chuckled a third.
MrPickels4U didn’t clarify whether he bought the car from a private individual or a dealership, neither did he mention that the reason it was discounted was that repairs were needed. However, he did reveal what the reason for the explosion was: “Crack in the line which built up fuel and Tada a [expletive] magic trick from hell.”
OP did mention he worked at a shop, which could be referring to an auto shop; if that’s the case, it’s possible he bought the truck with hopes of fixing it up. Either way, no one was injured, no homes were allegedly damaged, and no trucks survived.
