The much anticipated A Quiet PLace Part II has been delayed for an undetermined amount of time due to the coronavirus.
Written and directed by John Krasinki and starring his wife Emily Blunt, the sequel to A Quiet Place will not be coming to theaters later this march. The film was initially slated to release internationally on March 18th, March 19th, in the U.K., and March 20th in North America. The coronavirus’s alarming spread is the cause of the delay. Public gatherings are now being discouraged since they require being in close proximity to one another.
John Krasinski broke the news to the public this morning via Twitter. He writes that, given the current situation, now is clearly not the right time to release the film. Krasinksi wants people to watch A Quiet Place Part II together, and that isn’t possible without some risk of exposure.

A Quiet Place is a thriller about a family that must keep silent as not to attract the attention of dangerous creatures. Of course, things begin to go wrong, and the family is forced to adapt in order to survive. Excellent acting, superb directing, and first-rate sound design all work to create an incredibly tense film. But don’t just take my word for it – the critical praise speaks for itself.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt didn’t initially want to make a sequel to A Quiet Place. However, Krasinski had the idea to have Millicent Simmonds play the lead of the sequel. And we couldn’t be happier that he had this idea. Given the quality of the first film, a release of A Quiet Place Part II is very exciting. But it seems we will have to wait for the film to hit theaters. I would imagine the movie will release once the coronavirus is no longer a threat, but who knows when that will be.
The coronavirus is wreaking havoc on the entertainment industry. Riverdale has just shut down production due to the virus. Stars like Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are both sick with the coronavirus. In terms of the gaming industry, E3 2020, one of the biggest gaming events of the year, has been canceled.

But in the end, all I can say is this – Be careful out there, wash your hands, and get tested if you are sick. Stay safe!
