Inside Marvel Studios, the company is in a spiral as it tries to fix its Multiverse Saga and Big Bad problem. Yesterday, Jonathan Majors was found guilty of harassment and abuse, resulting in being fired from Marvel and requiring the studio to sift through actors to play Kang to replace the Lovecraft Country actor. We have some suggestions on who would be fitting to give the Avengers a headache in The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
5. John David Washington
He would be a few years older than Jonathan Majors as Kang, but out of the actors to replace him, John David Washington has proven he has the skills to do it. Marvel tends to pick notable stars, whether established or ones on an upward trajectory, to play an Avengers villain. Washington has delivered nuanced performances in films like BlacKkKlansman and has even nabbed roles in major blockbusters like Tenet and The Creator. Kang requires a thought process that can take an actor into the shoes of multiple variants, which is why Washington would be perfectly suited to jump into the superhero genre by beating down Avenger after Avenger.
4. Gugu Mbatha-Raw
In the Multiverse, anything can happen. At least, that is what we have been told through various projects and characters. Gugu Mbatha-Raw has a substantial role in Loki as Ravonna Renslayer. Looking at finding someone new to play Kang through the lens of the MCU, she is set perfectly to portray a female version of the villain. She has ties to him, as revealed in Loki season 2, so there is that connection to expand upon, like a Kang variant of Renslayer. The rules established in the series highlighted how anyone, even a blonde woman, could be a Loki. It would be a great level-up for Mbatha-Raw, who has delivered a powerful performance in the Disney Plus series.
3. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
When looking for a Black actor in his 30s, not many actors would be more perfect to take on Kang to replace Jonathan Majors as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. With the end of the DCEU and his future as the Aquaman villain is uncertain, he could flip over to Marvel to deliver yet another powerful performance as an antagonist. He has gained traction to become that A-lister who has not had enough time to headline a film. The Watchmen actor could be given this time in an Infinity War style by being one of the leads in the next Avengers movies to show once again how he is one of our finest blockbuster stars.
2. Aldis Hodge
Similarly to Abdul-Mateen II, Aldis Hodge looks to be out of DC as James Gunn revamps it for the soon-to-be DCU. The Black Adam star has largely done supporting roles to prove his talent, like in One Night in Miami as the late football player Jim Brown as well as having a dynamic character in Leverage. His Hawkman felt like a missed opportunity due to circumstances out of his control. Marvel should pick him up for a role, but to save the Multiverse Saga, that role should be Kang to show audiences what he could do in a one-two-punch Avengers movie.

Marvel Reportedly Thinking on a Pivot Away From Johnathan Majors as the MCU’s Current Main Villain1. LaKeith Stanfield
Our youngest suggestion is character actor LaKeith Stanfield. Two years younger than Jonathan Majors, he is the closest of the actors we wish to play Kang to replace the previous star. Not only is he close to the same age, but he is one of the best supporting actors who deserve to be given that extra step. From wowing us in a handful of scenes in Get Out to having a quirky standout role in Donald Glover’s Atlanta, Stanfield certainly has a magnetic quality. While he has had bigger parts in years, like the rollercoaster comedy Sorry to Bother You, few roles would match an Avengers villain to bring him into the spotlight as he becomes the next biggest threat to the multiverse.
