Actor and comedian Adam Sandler is reminiscing on his career in comedy. The 56-year-old who started as a comedian first starred in the movie Going Overboard when he was just 22.
On Sunday, Adam Sandler walked the red carpet outside the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He was there for the Performing Arts in preparation for receiving the 24th Annual Mark Twain Award for American Comedy. Continue reading for more details.
Adam Sandler Recalls His First Movie ‘Going Overboard’
On the event’s red carpet, Adam Sandler was interviewed by ET‘s Rachel Smith.
“That was probably the last time I was excited about the shirt coming off,” Adam joked about his as Shecky Moskowitz.
In the 1989 comedy movie Going Overboard, Adam Sandler was a rookie stand-up comedian performing on a cruise ship.
He went on to recall that he met Milton Berle first during the movie and it was a dream come true. Adam also gushed about how he always wanted to be an actor and a comedian.
Fortunately, he found himself starring in his first movie. According to him, at that time that was all he cared about and he was so excited going after it.
After starring in Going Overboard, Adam Sandler also went on to produce and star in other comedy movies. Some of his classics include Hustle, Punch Drunk Love, and Uncut Gems.
Adam Gushes Over Drew Barrymore
During his interview, Adam also took out time to praise and celebrate one of his friends and collaborator Drew Barrymore.
Adam revealed that he spoke to Drew that morning. He added that he saw her with her kids and they were nice.
“So nice to my family, always sits down and hangs out with my kids, she’s the best,” Adam also said about Drew.
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have starred in multiple movies including, The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, and Blended. He gushed about the actress and said that working with her makes every day beautiful.
