Adele admits she hasn’t been herself lately. After suffering a health scare during a recent concert, the “Hello” singer went on Instagram to confirm she’s been feeling sick. Although she tried to push through her illness for the sake of her fans, it’s come to a point where she can no longer perform. As a result, Adele had to make the tough decision of pausing her Las Vegas residency.
Adele Pauses Las Vegas Residency
All of her shows throughout March will be impacted. The star was supposed to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace every Friday and Saturday for the next five weeks. However, due to her illness, Adele is being forced to reschedule those concerts. She hasn’t announced the new dates yet but reassured fans that her team is currently working on it. Once the new shows have been confirmed, Adele said she’ll post an update as soon as possible.
In her Instagram message, the songstress explained she had been feeling unwell since the end of the last leg of her tour. Her sickness continued when she took a break during the winter. Since she hadn’t fully recovered when her tour resumed in January, she’s unfortunately damaged her voice. The situation has become so serious that she’s had to pause her entire residency for the time being.
It’s all taken a toll on my voice. And so on Doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly.
Adele
The majority of fans have been understanding. They praised Adele for having done 80 shows so far and said she deserves a break. However, some people haven’t been so kind to the singer. Those who were directly impacted by the postponements criticized Adele for not compensating their flights and hotels after having spent so much time and money traveling to see her.
Luckily, Adele didn’t have any concerts scheduled for April, so only her March shows were affected. After spending the next two and a half months recuperating, the star will most likely return to performing just in time for her next concert on Friday, May 17.
