The Skyclops can be considered one of the most challenging Dream Realm bosses in AFK Journey, as the enemy can one-shot heroes with its sweeping laser beam and tank both physical and magic damage. But like all of the bosses part of the mode, no matter how tough they might look, you will be able to bring them down by using the right units and strategy. That said, let’s go over how to defeat the Skyclops in AFK Journey, as well as which heroes are the best when the subject is getting the job done.

Skyclops Moveset
Differently from bosses like the Snow Stomper, the Skyclops’s only truly destructive attack will be their Ultimate, which will allow them to send out a sweeping laser covering the whole field and either one-shoot or deal massive damage to all your heroes. To make sure you are ready for everything the boss will throw at you, here’s an overview of their moveset in AFK Journey.
Skill | Description |
---|---|
Ultimate | Shoots a sweeping laser beam that deals 260% Magic and Physical DMG. |
Skill 1 | Summons 4 Wings of Light. The enemies will target your furthermost hero. While the enemies are on the field, the Skyclops will receive a 40% to 90% (level-dependent) increase in Physical DMG resistance. |
Skill 2 | Summons 4 Wings of Darkness, who will fight like the Wings of Light. While the enemies are on the field, the Skyclops will receive a 40% to 90% (level-dependent) increase in Magic DMG resistance. |
Skill 3 | Skyclops will receive a 15% boost in Physical DMG if any Wings of Light are on the field. The boost will shift to Magic DMG if any Wings of Darkness are present. |
Best Heroes and Team Formations for the Skyclops Battle
Now that you know what to expect from the boss, it’s time to pick your team, which you can do by first picking a tank. Although your chosen hero for the spot does not necessarily need to be a member of the tank class, they need to be sturdy. When on the field, they will be the main focus of both the boss and its minions.
For the position, I recommend using Thoran or Smokey & Meerky, the latter of which will also work as a top-tier support. If you don’t have any of our top picks, using Brutus or Lucius can also work.
For the remaining slots in the formation, we will be making use of 2 focused damage dealers, one support/buffer, and either one healer (if not using Smokey & Meerky) or one focused debuffer. In the early game, using a team featuring a tank, two healers, and two high-tier ranged heroes like Odie and Cecia can also work. You can check out the best formations for the Skyclops fight below:
Formation Name | Artifact Choice | Formation |
---|---|---|
Smokey & Meerky For the Win | Starshard Spell | Tank/Support: Smokey & Meerky Healer: Hewynn Support: Reinier DPS: Odie + Cecia / Korin / Cecia |
Sharpshooting Fest | Starshard Spell / Awakening Spell | Tank: Thoran / Brutus Healer: Smokey & Meerky Support: Lyca DPS: Odie + Marilee / Bryon |
1-2-2 | Starshard Spell / Ironwall Spell | Tank: Brutus / Kruger Healer: Hewynn + Smokey & Meerky / Rowan DPS: Cecia + Korin / Mirael (only when over Legendary+) / Bryon |
How To Beat the Skyclops in AFK Journey
You can defeat the Skyclops in AFK Journey by placing your tank in the tile closest to the boss, which will cause the latter to focus their attacks on them. Then, simply place your remaining teammates in the tiles located in the row behind it. Other than that, there’s no secret to it, as your heroes will take care of everything once the battle begins.
If you are using a tank capable of shielding the party —aka Lucius— make sure your formation stays compact so that all party members may receive the protection. When using Rowan as either your healer or main support, make sure to keep him at the center of your formation to guarantee that all your heroes will stay within his AoE.
