Alaskan Republicans Allegedly Want a ‘Bear Alcatraz’ for Imprisoned Immigrants: ‘So after Alligator Auschwitz, now Bear Birkenau’

This is unbearable

Some Republicans can be ruthless when it comes to their strong disposition against illegal immigrants in the US or just migrants in general. Allegedly, some Alaskans would like to get on board with the Florida attorney general’s concept of constructing an “Alligator Alcatraz” for those detained by ICE, per Newsweek. Instead of gators, a horde of hungry grizzly bears would be waiting in the forests to maul any escaping detainees. The amount of dehumanization that humans can place upon other humans is quite shocking, yet hearing that Alaska reportedly wants bears to eat immigrants isn’t too far-fetched, especially under today’s DC administration.

“How do you even write cartoon villains nowadays when real politicians are like this?” remarks a Reddit user in disbelief. Some comments took the comical jokes to another level. “[I’m] Waiting for some idiot to suggest frickin laser beams,” jested one. “Mounted on sharks,” added in a reply. A few more added to the gimmick-themed Alcatraz mashups before other commenters snapped the discussion back to reality.

“Life imitates art,” reflects a Reddit user. “Sometimes, in really bad ways none of us want.” Another chimed in, saying, “My question would be, why are there people defending this?” Going back to how much the Trump administration has encouraged the dehumanization of immigrants, transpeople, and other groups, it’s not too hard to see why anyone would want more ‘Alcatrazes.’

One rational user put it how people should generally think in this whole deportation-and-incarceration arc that the US is on. Simply put, lawful deportations should be implemented, but there’s no reason to “sadistically abuse them in camps as the Trump administration has proposed.” After all, “illegal immigration is hardly the crime of the century,” and most aren’t otherwise criminals.” On top of that, these immigrants aren’t even taking jobs the typical American would want.

But before pushing the ridiculous Alcatraz concepts aside, let’s lighten the mood with some more commenter’s goofy ideas: “So after Alligator Auschwitz, now Bear Birkenau.” Another user explains the “next step: Dingo Dachau, Snake Sobibor, Tiger Treblinka, [and] Yeti Yodok.” “Goose gulag,” joked a third. Anyways, sooner or later, this madness will hopefully come to an end, and the government will actually put taxpayer money into something worth funding.
