Wondering about the location of the Great Fairies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? The Great Fairies are an indispensable part of the game. Even if you have the best armor, you will face some dangerous bosses who will force you to rely upon supernatural beings. Unlocking the Great Fairies will also enable you to upgrade your armor to its highest quality. Unlike Breath of the Wild, this time around, unlocking them poses a greater challenge. In this guide, we will help you locate all four Great Fairies and the list the steps to unlock each one.
Location of Great Fairies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

There are some prerequisites before you start your adventure to meet the Great Fairies. As you progress through the game, you will have unrestricted access to the entire map. You will also start a quest line related to Zelda’s disappearance and the great fairies with Penn’s partner, Tryasi. You will also need enough horses to pull a cart, because you will have to pull one during the fairy quest line. Lastly, you must accumulate enough Pony points to acquire the part cooling harness from the Pony Point rewards. To get Pony points, you can visit different stables or tame multiple horses and trade them in. Once you have suitable horses and the harness, you can start your adventure to find and unlock the Great Fairies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Location of the First Great Fairy
Make your way to the Woodland Stables, where you’ll find Penn standing outside a traveling band. Repair the broken wagon nearby by attaching two wheels found nearby. Next, equip the saddle on your horse and inform the musicians that you’ll take them to the Great Fairy.
Drive the wagon with the musicians to the top of the hill where the fairy is located. They will play a tune to awaken her and reveal the locations of the other three fairies. Each fairy requires a specific condition to unlock. For every fairy you unlock, you’ll gain the ability to upgrade your armor further.
Location of the Second Great Fairy
You can find the second fairy in the Southwest of Great Fairy Kaysa, in the Outskirts Stable. Once you reach there, you will notice the musicians are looking for a flutist, and you’ll need to locate one. Travel to the Highland Stables and find the flutist near a tree. Encourage them to join the musicians by assisting them with a task involving fireflies. Return to the Outskirts Stable with the flutist, repair the wagon, and transport the musicians to the fairy’s location.
Location of the Third Great Fairy
The third fairy is located North of Outskirts Stable, in the Tabantha Tundra. The musicians there seek a horn player. Head to the Tabantha Bridge Stable or follow the road south until you find the horn player in a hole. Help them escape by building a contraption and drive them back to the musicians at the Tabantha Stable. Transport them to the fairy’s location.
Location of the Fourth Great Fairy
The fourth fairy is Southeast of Central Hyrule. After reaching, talk to Mastro who will ask you to bring a drummer to complete his band. You can reach the drummer by going through a cavern or launching yourself from one of the Skyview Towers. The drummer will demand honey. Fortunately, you can get plenty of honey from the other quests and give it to the drummer. Return to Dueling Peaks Stables and build a boat to cross the river with the musicians. Once you reach the fairy’s location, you will unlock the last fairy.
As you unlock each fairy, you can enhance your armor to higher levels. However, the materials required for upgrades become progressively more demanding. That covers everything about Great Fairies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
