Two years passed since HoYoverse, and the anime studio Ufotable announced the Genshin Impact anime. It was not just a simple announcement but an animation in which they brought Teyvat, Paimon, and the Travelers to life in their 2D version. HoYoverse has its own studio to make fantastic 2D animations of its different games, such as the Myriad Celestia Trailer of Honkai Star Rail. Although there is no doubt that Ufotable has a great reputation in the animation world, this project will be a thousand times better as both companies’ teams will work together. I can only imagine how the incredible 3D effects Kimetsu no Yaiba has with astonishing fight scenes like those in the Fate Series.
All Genshin Impact fans were excited initially, but hope was lost as time passed. It’s not as if HoYoverse didn’t make promises like this and forget them in a corner, like the Nintendo Switch version of Genshin Impact almost 5 years ago. However, something has changed because, on the X account of CGWORLD.jp, a Japanese studio focused on 3DCG & VFX, they announced that they are recruiting for different positions and projects. The projects listed in the post include anime from Ufotable such as Kimetsu no Yaiba, Fate Series, Genshin Impact, and more.
It’s a pity that the anime will take even longer, but at least there is some more hope. Of course, this is entirely justified when the Ufotable teams have been very busy between 2024 and 2025. The animators recently finished the adaptation of Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training arc, and three movies are coming for the Infinity Castle arc. In addition to the winter season of 2025, the studio also released the new chapter of Fate/strange Fake. So, Genshin Impact anime will take much longer to arrive, but it will be worth it.
