Are you an avid Neeko player or thinking about playing a new Champion in League of Legends? Neeko hasn’t been a popular pick among players, only getting picked around 1.2% of the time. But in the recent Public Beta Environment, Neeko received some changes to her abilities that made her significantly better. While Riot has just released Patch 13.8, the work for the next mid-scope patch is already underway, and Riot decided to give her some help. Neeko’s changes should help her be a better character, making her a more attractive pick. If you have always wondered about Neeko, now is the best time to try her out!
Changes Made in the Neeko Rework in League of Legends
The changes to Neeko’s abilities have seen large in-game improvements across the board, making her a bigger threat in League of Legends. This is only available in the PBE and does not reflect Neeko’s performance after the 13.8 patch. Neeko’s abilities will be updated when the mid-scope patch arrives.
Inherent Glamour (Passive)
- If Neeko is near a non-epic monster, minion, plant, trap or ward for more than two seconds, she gains their Sho’ma and can transform into that unit. Click the bar to transform, and Neeko’s portrait to transform back.
- Inherent Glamour no longer disappears upon taking damage. If damage would kill Neeko’s transformation or crowd control affects her, it disappears.
- Cooldown is six seconds at all ranks.
- Neeko no longer inherits AS/MS from copied units if the unit’s AS/MS is higher than Neeko’s.
Blooming Burst (Q)
- Secondary/Tertiary Pop damage increases to 35/60/85/110/135 + 25% AP.
- Explosions deal 30/40/50/60/70 bonus damage to monsters.
Shapesplitter (W)
- Neeko can send the clone to a new location after recasting.
- The clone is capable of playing the animations of Q/E/Laugh/Dance/Joke/Taunt/Recall and will remain for their duration.
- Empowered attacks deal 50% more damage to monsters.
Tangle Barbs (E)
- The Neeko rework has increased this ability’s Damage to 70/105/140/175/210 +65% AP.
Pop Blossom (R)
- After channeling, Neeko jumps in the air which suspends all nearby enemies.
- The jump lasts 0.6 seconds, followed by a ground slam which deals damage to all suspended and nearby enemies, while stunning them for 1.25 seconds.
- Neeko doesn’t have shields while using it.
- Damage has decreased to 150/350/550 (+100% AP)
- Cooldown has changed to 120/105/90 seconds instead of being a flat 90 seconds across all ranks.
Neeko’s Reworked Abilities Make Her Stronger
In exchange for Pop Blossom both suspending enemies in the air and dealing additional damage on the ground, Neeko has no shields and deals less damage. The higher cooldown at earlier levels seems unfortunate, but it balances out the additional jump and suspension. Neeko’s inherited AS/MS from Inherent Glamour is no longer a guarantee if the copied target has a higher AS/MS. Nevertheless, the Neeko rework is largely positive overall, letting her deal more damage and making her a more versatile combatant.
Neeko’s changes will arrive on May 3, 2023 in League of Legends. Since it’s still in beta testing, the final numbers and effects have yet to be finalized until the actual release date. If the new updates make Neeko look more appealing, May 3 is a good time to get started. If you are in the PBE, you can give Neeko’s new abilities a try.
League of Legends is available for free on PC.
