Amanda Bynes Is Released From Mental Health Hospital
The 37-year-old initially experienced psychosis and she was seen walking naked on the streets. This lead up to her being looked after in a mental health facility. However, Bynes decided to leave the facility three weeks after she was admitted following consultation with her caregivers.
The TV star was discharged from the hospital based on her choice and improvement in her mental health. It was reported by TMZ that the former All That actress decided to leave the hospital, and subscribed to an outpatient program to make sure that she maintains the improvement that was observed.
She reportedly worked with the staff of the hospital to detect if she would be able to return to her normal routines. Additionally, going back to her house and receiving outpatient treatment will give her a feeling of normality once more.
Bynes Was in Conservatorship Since 2013
The She’s The Man actress was previously in conservatorship since 2013 but it ended last year so she can make her decision independently. The publication revealed that Bynes’s parents had thought of setting up another conservatorship. They became relaxed about it because she had been improving well before her recent mental health crisis happened.
Per DailyMail, her conservatorship commenced in 2013 after she was involuntarily committed after multiple run-ins with the law in 2012. During that time, she had two hits and runs as well as a DUI. At another time, she got arrested for throwing a bong out of the window of her 36th-floor flat in Manhattan.
Authorities recently towed her car in Long Beach on the 15th of March. This came before her erratic episode on the streets of Los Angeles. An eyewitness made it known that she entered the health facility naked and not putting on any cloth.
Bynes was aware of her mental health condition and quickly called 9-1-1 to report that she was coming out of a psychotic state and needed aid. At some point, while she waited for the cops, she flagged down a car to get help.
