Amanda Seyfried Suggests Charlie Kirk Brought His Violent Death on Himself: ‘Do Not Eulogize This Horrible Person’

Murder is wrong, as is a call to violence

Sydney Sweeney’s co-star for the upcoming The Housemaid, Amanda Seyfried, has recently been using her Instagram Story as a means to speak out against Charlie Kirk. But instead of blatantly writing out a statement or uploading a video of herself denouncing the murdered right-wing activist, she has opted for a more subtle approach with one of her Story’s posts. The Mean Girls actress posted a saying that heavily implies Charlie Kirk’s outspoken views were the reason for his death.

The quote that Amanda Seyfried posted to her Instagram Story read, “You can’t invite violence to the dinner table and be shocked when it starts eating.” Among his other controversial opinions and extremist views, it’s well-known that Charlie Kirk was pro-gun and even went on to imply that people needed to be sacrificed for others to keep the Second Amendment. With that thinking, one could easily say Kirk was ‘pro-violence,’ which was seemingly the message that the Les Misérables cast member was trying to relay in her post. It’s impossible not to expect violence when you encourage it yourself, in other words.

While Seyfried has received backlash for her stance against Kirk, she has since made it very clear that she’s against his murder just as much as she opposes other harmful concepts, like misogyny and racism. While some have denounced it for being a bit “both sides-y,” many are still in support of the Letters to Juliet star’s message. One user expressed how refreshing it is for a celebrity to exclaim, “Do not eulogize this horrible person. He wouldn’t eulogize you if what happened to him happened to you.” And even though she had to backpeddle a bit with her later response, thousands agree that Kirk “didn’t believe in empathy,” so there’s little reason to be empathetic about this death.

Others clarify that many MAGA and Trump supporters are trying to make claims that Seyfried is celebrating Kirk’s murder when that clearly isn’t the case. Several more point out how it’s shameful how people are using the fact that Kirk has a family as a means to shield him from all criticism. Meanwhile, a certain TV host gets away with encouraging genocide, while the rest of the world conveniently forgets that a politician and her husband were murdered in their home in Minnesota.

It would seem that Jimmy Kimmel’s comment about how MAGA is capitalizing on Kirk’s death might hold true, now that he’s been deplatformed for speaking out about it and with Seyfried receiving backlash for her criticism.
