In this day and age of chaos and division across the US, even the most shocking headlines have become the norm. From freedom of speech being compromised to the unjustness of immigrants and American citizens, the last thing you would imagine would come as a shock would be a remark made by a millionaire news reporter. Yet, on live Fox News, Brian Kilmeade bluntly calls for the killing of homeless, disabled, and mentally ill people, leaving the internet dumbfounded.

Fox’s Kilmeade suggests killing the homeless, disabled and mentally ill with involuntary lethal injection

During the live segment, one co-host complains about how homeless and mentally disabled people have been provided with plenty of resources and billions in funding to get help. But since they allegedly refuse, we should just throw them all in prison, right? Well, Brian Kilmeade chimed in with an even more outrageous plan: “Or uh just involuntary lethal injection or something—just kill them.” Online users were in shock, as the man will still keep his platform and prestige after this comment, while other people criticizing the tragically murdered Charlie Kirk could be prosecuted.

Kilmeade’s Calling for the Killing of the Disabled and Homeless Is ‘Nazi’ Behavior

One user points out how Kilmeade is calling for the lethal purge of people on the streets because “they’re an inconvenience.” While it’s a very extreme and harmful point of view, many share the same hatred towards their fellow humans these days. Plenty of voters and Trump supporters are calling for inhumane concentration camps to be constructed for anyone they deem unfit to exist on American soil. And as ICE and police terrorize the streets and hate crimes continue to thrive, it’s hard to see light at the end of the tunnel when a well-established TV host casually calls for mass genocide on live television.

Commenters about Kilmeade’s statement also point out how one of the first groups of people to be purged in Nazi Germany was disabled and mentally ill people. “Learn from history,” remarks a Reddit user. “It’s absolutely vile to even suggest.” “Man, Christianity really has changed since I stopped practicing,” says another, pointing out that Kilmeade and many other people with influence or authority in the US claim to be Christians. It doesn’t take an intellectual to realize that what these people are saying and doing is anything but God-fearing behavior.

Going back to what Kilmeade said, one commenter expresses that it’s a way for an extremist with a voice to say the worst things, such as advocating murder, and inject their ideologies into the public audience, where it all becomes normalized. And seeing the current state of the country, the worst has become quite normal.
