The whole Path of Exile 2 community is going through a patch of bittersweet news, with the recent information confirming a delay for the game’s beta. Previously, we were all expecting the beta test to hit digital shelves on June 7. However, recent information claims the beta will occur sometime near the year’s end. This will be a huge blow for fans of this installment, but that’s not a reason to lose faith in the sequel. A Ranger Class was recently revealed for Path of Exile 2, and an expansion is coming to the first entry.
Path of Exile 2 Delays Its Beta to the End of the Year
The date for Path of Exile 2‘s beta is uncertain after the delay, but the developers claim it’ll take place sometime during the end of this year. On the other hand, the alpha test will take place in June, so a few gamers might get to try this long-anticipated ARPG installment. While it is a blow for many, there are many things to look forward to. Amidst the bad news, a light shines in the shape of a Ranger.
The Ranger is Path of Exile 2’s New Class and It Looks Slick
As you can see in the flashy and well-made cinematic trailer, the Ranger is a class tailored for those who prefer a long-range approach to combat. Still, that doesn’t mean you can kick your foes’ butt in close proximity. The trailer shows many close-quarter options to get out of harm’s way while damaging enemies. Overall, it looks like a well-designed class we can’t wait to try.
Necropolis Is Coming to Path of Exile
Something is coming to those playing the first installment. You can mark your calendar now because, on March 29, the Necropolis Expansion will arrive on PCs and consoles. This expansion will introduce the Necropolis challenge league, changes to the endgame content, Tier 17 maps and bosses, and much more. So, while we all cope with the news of the beta delay for Path of Exile 2, this expansion will keep us busy for a while.
While not having the chance to take a peek at the sequel saddens many, seeing the new installment stay in the oven for longer will benefit everyone. After all, this series has gathered the respect of many due to its high-quality combat and content, so waiting for something equally great won’t hurt as much. Still, we hope the development for the sequel goes smoothly because we can’t wait to try everything GGG has promised us.
