Angry Georgia Influencer Stunned After Parents Call Cops When He Tries to Move Out: ‘Mom, What’s Wrong With You?!’

Some goodbyes are tougher than others

Moving out of the nest is always an emotional moment, but one Twitch streamer’s mom got a little too emotional. She apparently didn’t want her 19-year-old son to move out of their Georgia home to live with his other influencer friends, and ended up calling the cops on her son, adding more fuel to the fire. The result was a rather dramatic night full of screaming and threats of disowning.

IRL (in real life) Twitch streamer NothingB4Kaiyo, or Kai and his friends, were the prime witnesses of such a significant milestone, as their friend, Jason, 19, announced he was moving out on November 13. And in true streamer fashion, Kai livestreamed Jason’s conversation with his parents. While Jason’s dad was partial to the idea, his mom was hysterical, even calling the cops. Here’s the highlight reel of the whole incident:

Based on stream, Jason’s mother confronted him at the front door, accusing his friends of being a bad influence and warning, “they would put you guys in trouble.” His father also echoed her fears, insisting their son wasn’t ready to live on his own, especially with a recent migrant probation issue weighing on the family. Jason, backed by Kai, argued otherwise. But tensions erupted when his mom called 911, requesting a welfare check on her “baby.”

Police arrived moments later, mediating between protective parents and an increasingly frustrated young adult. At one point, Jason’s mother collapsed in distress, prompting his desperate plea: “Mom, what’s wrong with you?!” Officers ultimately told the parents that Jason, as a legal adult, had the right to leave. He gathered his bags and delivered a message to his viewers: “Like that, chat. Take a risk in life.”

People online were divided over the Twitch streamer’s plan

For the record, Jason had been planning his exit for months. With nearly 1,000 subscribers and steady income from streaming, YouTube collabs, and lifestyle content, he saw moving in with his creator friends as the natural next step. “If I want to, I can,” he told viewers while stuffing hoodies and gear into duffel bags, framing the moment as his first big leap toward a real career.

Meanwhile, commenters on X were more or less equally torn on the matter. Jason was indeed an adult and could do what he wanted, but at the same time, some believe that the parents only cared for their son. “Wild situation, but not surprising. When someone’s chasing an unconventional path, families often panic. Still, calling the police shows how far the generational gap is when it comes to understanding creator careers,” says an X user.

“Imagine thinking the police can force a grown adult to stay in your house. That’s not parenting, that’s possession,” argues another commenter. “If I hear a “career as content creator and influencer” I’m reacting like his parents,” rants a naysayer to Jason’s career path. Jason, meanwhile, is dead set on taking the risk and becoming rich in his Twitch career path.
