Offset and a Takeoff lookalike sparked controversy following a recent occurrence. It turns out the 32-year-old isn’t pleased with the content creator, who has been making content about looking like the late Migos rapper. The controversy began after Takeoff‘s impersonator took to social media with a video of his version of the popular “Of Course” challenge. However, Offset wasn’t happy about the Takeoff lookalike’s video, criticizing him in the comments section.
Inside the Offset and Takeoff Lookalike Controversy
Offset has made the headlines with his comments on a video featuring “Takedown_not_Takeoff,” a content creator who closely resembles the late Migos member Takeoff. The video, shared on Instagram in March, featured the impersonator’s rendition of the “of course” challenge.
“I’m a celebrity lookalike, of course with these glasses I look like Takeoff,” he began in the clip. The man continued, emphasizing that as a celebrity lookalike, he also got the best ad-libs. He concluded the challenge, saying:
“I’m a celebrity lookalike, of course when I’m out in public, people think they’ve just seen a ghost and take off.”
In the caption, the content creator revealed the video was in honor of the late rapper and to keep his name alive. Unfortunately, some people weren’t pleased with the Takeoff lookalike’s video, and Offset was one of them. In no time, Offset and the Takeoff lookalike had an exchange. Taking to the comments section on Monday, Offset made it clear that the video wasn’t funny.
“No you don’t twin s**t not funny!!!!” he said.
Shortly after, the impersonator responded to Offset’s comment, writing:
“No disrespect but I think I do and so do others but why we can’t turn something negative into something positive? Long live takeoff 🚀.”
Takeoff’s Lookalike Responds to a Repost of His Video
The Takeoff lookalike’s video quickly went viral with many media sites and blogs reposting it. In their repost, The Shade Room included Offset’s reaction to their post. Unlike the rapper, many people saw nothing wrong with the video, as, according to them, people impersonated celebrities all the time. Meanwhile, the content creator has expressed gratitude to The Shade Room for posting him. A few hours ago, he took to his Instagram page with a repost of the post alongside the caption:
“Shout out to the shade room for posting me 💯 in honor of takeoff long live the f**k goat 🚀.”
The Offset and Takeoff lookalike saga will undoubtedly make the content creator become more popular. Such popularity will make him want to post more videos of him imitating Takeoff. Thus, Offset may just want to let this go.
