ARK: Survival Evolved was a big hit when it launched on Steam Greenlight, and now, it has found even more success on the Xbox One. The overall success of this game is surprising to the developers.
In a post on Xbox Wire, Studio Wildcard co-founder and co-creative director, Jesse Rapczak gave a few stats about the game since its Xbox One launch on December 16th. In less than a week from the release on the Game Preview program, the game was downloaded over one million times and players have spent a combined 200,000 real-life days fighting for survival against dinosaurs, nature, and other players.
“There’s no question that survival games have taken the PC world by storm lately, and as the only true large-scale multiplayer survival game available on console, perhaps it comes as no surprise that ARK’s daily Xbox One player count is already bigger than on PC,” Rapczak added.
Players who have picked up ARK: Survival Evolved can also be involved in helping to shape how the game will turn out. Studio Wildcard is paying attention to feedback coming from the official site, Twitter, and the Game Hub on the Xbox One.
As ARK: Survival Evolved continues to stomp towards its release on all platforms, Rapczak says that Xbox One players can expect the same regular updates that will bring in features such as split screen multiplayer, controller customization, UI improvements, game mode tweaks and balancing and more
