Users were split between backing her claim and pointing to Arkansas’s own education record.
The video shows Sanders speaking from a studio with the U.S. Capitol behind her. She says it is “crazy that” some Democratic-led states have not joined the federal scholarship tax credit, adding that children “need different” paths “to success” and referring to an “entire state.” B-roll includes New York Gov. Kathy Hochul at a podium and classroom footage. The clip does not show other guests responding, and it is not clear from the footage whether Sanders is naming Hochul specifically.
In the caption, Sanders wrote, “Democrats hate our President more than they love the kids they govern in their states,” and added that they “need to stop failing students, stop failing families, and put what matters first.”
The program she is discussing is the Education Freedom Tax Credit, which lets taxpayers claim a credit of up to $1,700 for donations to scholarship-granting groups; states must opt in for students there to receive those scholarships.
Reporting outside the post has said roughly 30 states have joined or signaled they will, including Arkansas and some Democratic-led states. The video itself does not list which governors have declined.

The fight over which states will join the federal scholarship tax credit is still unfolding, and Sanders’ remarks add another public push in that debate ahead of the program’s 2027 start.
