Ubisoft, as part of their Ubisoft Forward E3 event, has announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be receiving a second year of content, updates, and add-ons. This is a new strategy for the Assassin’s Creed franchise and will be the first time in the series’ history that DLC will be added more than a year after a release.
Besides learning more on how Ubisoft plans to support Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the future, their E3 announcement also gave us more info on releases coming in the near future. The Siege of Paris, the previously announced second expansion for the game, has been confirmed as releasing this summer. Set in Francia, this DLC will take Eivor to the French countryside to take part in one of the most infamous battles in Viking history. This expansion will also feature the return of Black Box Infiltration missions, allowing the player to choose the best way to eliminate a designated target. The Siege of Paris will be available to all Season Pass holders or available as a separate purchase for $29.99.
Ubisoft also announced that Discovery Tour: Viking Age will be releasing this fall. This add-on, in the same vein as the previous Discovery Tours for Odyssey and Origins, will allow players to take a journey through the time period on an interactive learning experience. This add-on will be free to all Assassin’s Creed Valhalla owners or can be purchased in a stand-alone version via Uplay PC for $19.99.
With Wrath of the Druids released only a couple of weeks ago, it’s obvious that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fans will have quite a lot of content to satisfy their Viking bloodlust for the time being. Perhaps it is no surprise that Ubisoft has decided to keep supporting Valhalla as it had the largest launch in Assassin’s Creed history, with record-breaking sales in its first week. The announcement also included an enigmatic portal at the end, perhaps hinting that Odin isn’t quite finished with Eivor.
