7 years, we’ve been waiting for an epic Avengers movie, and now we’re getting one in 2026 with the biggest Marvel villain at the helm. Avengers: Doomsday is the 5th in the series, and the 39th in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we’ve got its first-ever full trailer today that has so many details to break down.

10 Details You Might Have Missed In the Avengers Doomsday Trailer

10. Thor Fights Doom First

Thor is the main guy talking in this trailer, explaining what’s happening and what’s to come. And judging by the fact that he knows more than anyone about Dr. Doom, we can assume that Thor is the first Avenger to have fought the main villain. He even goes for the head this time, but Doom is able to stop the Thunder God with only 2 fingers.

Now it’s not clear why or how Thor is aware of Dr. Doom, but there’s a theory that Doom may have taken Love, Thor’s daughter, the same way he wanted to take Franklin Richards for his powers in Fantastic Four: First Steps.

9. First Sight of Incursion

The Avengers: Doomsday trailer then shows us a glimpse of what an incursion looks like. Charles Xavier is looking from the X-Mansion’s window, and a sound like two universes collide is heard.

Now it’s important to note that before this, Professor X and Magneto were playing chess, and the X-Mansion was already kinda cracked. The dark atmosphere with ruins all around makes it feel like the fight between the Avengers and the X-Men happens before the full incursion.

8. Earth 616 Incursion With The X-MEN Universe?

And speaking of that, the New Avengers, Shang-Chi, and even the Fantastic Four are in the X-Mansion here; so is the X-Men universe in an incursion with the main MCU universe, AKA Earth 616? The heroes obviously don’t know each other, fighting until probably someone explains to them what’s happening.

But it could be that the X-Men universe is already dying, and the New Avengers with the Fantastic Four are here to help rescue the remaining heroes. Gambit, Mystic, and Cyclops are the only X-Men showcased in this trailer, and it appears that the Fantastic Four join to stop this madness. Another theory could be that all 3 universes, the F4, 616, and X-Men, have collided, and they’re here to join forces after all.

7. Sentinels, or Celestials?

The final shot of the X-Mansion is Cyclops beaming lasers all over the place as he sees his world destroyed. The remaining X-Men will probably join forces with the New Avengers and Fantastic Four so that they can fight Dr. Doom and get to know the threat based on whatever Thor knows from the guy.

However, take a look at these big guys walking in the background here. Are these Celestials? Or Sentinels? We know that Dr. Doom has used Celestials’ powers to enhance his tech in different stories like the Earth X comics, and it’s totally possible if he’s using their powers here as well.

6. HERBIE’s New Design

Also, as the Fantastic Four arrive to join the fight in the X-Mansion, HERBIE is with them, but with a new look. The F4’s robot has changed drastically since we last saw him in the Fantastic Four movie. This is a more powerful version of this lovely robot, and this tech improvement might be Wakanda’s magic.

Later in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, we get to see Namor, Shuri, and the new king of Wakanda shaking hands with the Fantastic Four. They’re the guys spreading the message with Thor to every hero they know, and while they’re in there, maybe the Wakandans have improved HERBIE with vibranium and added a few tricks to it? That I’d love to see.

5. Missed Bob?

The New Avengers logo is now marked on the Avengers Tower. This is the same logo we saw in the Thunderbolts‘ ending, and do you remember that movie introduced a new overpowered hero called Sentry? Well, he’s here too! It’s only a few frames, and it’s very easy to miss.

Bob Reynolds is one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe, and the team definitely needs him to defeat Dr Doom. However, if Doom takes him out in a second, that’s where our heroes must think about a second, third, and probably a fourth and fifth plan.

4. New Avengers Post-Credit Connection

Now the other detail about Bob is that he’s wearing the same outfit from the Thunderbolts post-credit scene. I mean, all the New Avengers do in this scene, but something about him and the Red Guardian wearing this same outfit is telling me that this meeting is probably happening exactly at the same time. The Fantastic Four have already teamed up with the old Avengers and Thor, aware of the Dr. Doom threat, and they’re here to convince the New Avengers to join them. In that sense, the fight at the X-Mansion in the X-Men Universe probably happens after this.

3. New TVA Cards With Yggdrasil

Then we get a shot of Loki. I’ve been waiting for a TVA and Loki connection in the MCU movies and TV series for years, and it’s finally happening. But Loki being in the TVA here means something is definitely off. First, take a look at this card in the image that has the Yggdrasil or the World Tree carved behind it. Looks pretty cool that the TVA staff have changed the identity cards based on what happens by the end of Loki Season 2.

2. Loki Is Back In TVA

But as I said, Loki should be sitting in the middle of the World Tree to keep the multiverse alive and avoid incursions from happening. Loki not being there means that Dr Doom has already paid the God of Stories a visit, possibly taking him off the throne at the end of time, which allows for incursions like the one we see with the X-Men’s universe to happen.

1. Same Old Cap

Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday

And last but not least, the final part of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer gives us Steve Rogers. This is the same Captain America we saw in Endgame, the same Cap who lived a life with Peggy, and yes, the same old Cap that gave Sam the shield. How do we know? He’s worthy of taking the Mjolnir!

Thor is absolutely shocked by this, but we knew this was coming thanks to the Avengers: Doomsday teasers. According to the directors, this movie is a direct sequel to Endgame and starts right where that movie left off. So in that sense, maybe we start Doomsday by witnessing how Steve Rogers lives in the shadows all this time, marrying Peggy Carter, and then later coming back as old man Steve to give Sam the shield.
