Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian has unveiled a new hotfix that overhauls the game’s romance following its launch on PS5. Along with several fixes is the expansion of the relationship between the player and the evil Paladin, Minthara. Players previously felt that Minthara’s arc was underwhelming and were eager to peel back the character’s layers. Now, they will be able to learn about her backstory and significantly deepen their relationship with her in the later stages of the game. If you like bad girls, you’re in luck.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Romance Overhauled on PS5
Details on the latest hotfix and what it means for romance in Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 were revealed in a post on the game’s official site. 1,500 lines of dialogue for Minthara have been restored and add some much-needed depth to the ruthless Paladin of Vengeance. These lines were previously blocked by a bug, which resulted in her arc being considered half-baked by many fans.
Players will now be able to take their relationship with Minthara to the next level in the third act of the game. Not all the members of your party may be particularly happy about it though. The newly unlocked lines include your traveling companions openly voicing their disapproval due to her bloodthirsty nature. The Paladin herself has a pretty ruthless jealous streak. If you have romantic interests in other companions, then they can expect to feel her wrath.
The most recent hotfix also includes quality-of-life improvements specifically aimed at PS5 players. An issue has been fixed that caused the game’s audio to stop working and graphical issues on HDR TVs have been addressed. A crash has also been fixed and allows players to use the in-game keyboard.
