Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first official clip for Batman: Soul of the Dragon. It depicts a troubled Bruce Wayne seeking the tutelage of O-Sensei and his mysterious martial arts school. As the clip shows, doing so isn’t an easy task. Check it out below:
This next entry in the DC Universe Movies canon, Batman: Soul of the Dragon features famous actors in the title roles. In this clip, we hear David Giuntoli (Grimm) play Bruce Wayne and James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China) play O-Sensei. Joining them in the movie are Mark Dacascos (Brotherhood of the Wolf), Kelly Hu (Scorpion King), Michael Jai White (Spawn), and Josh Keaton (Spectacular Spider-Man) as Richard Dragon, Lady Shiva, Ben Turner, and Jeffrey Burr respectively.
Batman: Soul of the Dragon explores an Elseworlds 1970’s version of Batman. Faced with a deadly menace from his past, Bruce Wayne enlists the aid of three former classmates to defeat it. The film is directed by Sam Liu, who has directed many DC Original animated features. His credits include Justice League vs. The Fatal Five (2019), The Killing Joke (2016), and Batman & Harley Quinn (2017). He’s more than qualified to take on a new Batman project.
The film will perhaps ease the pain of Batman fans disappointed about the release delays of Matt Reeve’s The Batman. The Robert Pattinson-starring superhero film is the victim of multiple production delays due to COVID-19. As such, its release date has inevitably been pushed back. At the time of writing, The Batman is set for release on March 4, 2022.
However, you’ll be able to watch Batman: Soul of the Dragon much sooner. The movie is set to hit Digital platforms on January 12, 2021. It then releases on DVD and Blu-Ray on January 26, 2021. Are you looking forward to Soul of the Dragon? Let us know in the comments below.
