At EA Play today it was announced that Battlefield V would be getting an expansion focused on close quarters combat. Releasing in August, this free expansion aims to offer Battlefield players a different taste of gameplay.
The announced maps so far are Marita, a small Greek rural town, and Al Sundan, a large sandbox plain in Northern Africa. DICE describe the way Al Sundan plays as “classic Battlefield.” The other maps will be revealed closer to Chapter 4’s release.
Operation Underground will follow in October, a remake of the extremely popular Operation: Metro map from Battlefield 3.
Long-term fans of Battlefield will be aware that this isn’t the first time something like this has been added. Battlefield 3 had the ‘Close Quarters’ expansion as part of its Premium Pass DLC. If this Battlefield V chapter is of a similar quality then fans shouldn’t be left disappointed.
