Former President Donald Trump has stated that “beautiful women” are “driving [him] crazy” at his Mar-a-Lago event, indicating some tension between himself and his wife, Melania Trump. There is no irrefutable proof that Trump has been unfaithful to Melania, but his recent comment does suggest trouble in paradise for number 45.
Trump attended the Mar-a-Lago event alone, as Melania Trump remains more pressingly concerned with her son, 18-year-old Barron Trump, who celebrated his milestone birthday out of the spotlight on Wednesday.
Trump’s Past Controversies
Recently, and throughout his previous political campaign, Trump has been scrutinized for his misconduct at public gatherings, especially concerning his family members. Trump has made inappropriate comments about his daughters, particularly his eldest, Ivanka Trump. In the past, Mr. Trump has described Ivanka as “voluptuous.” He even said it was OK to describe her as “a piece of ass” and said that, if she wasn’t his daughter, “perhaps [he’d] be dating her.”
Footage has surfaced online of Trump blatantly ignoring his grandson at a UFC match. Melania’s absence from the campaign has also sparked discussions about the Trump family dynamics. In the video, Donald Trump walks up to his eldest, Ivanka, and pulls her in for a hug. He then shakes her hand of her husband, Jared Kushner, before moving on. His grandson, Joseph, moved in for a greeting, only to be faced with the former president’s cold shoulder.
Speculation about the Trump’s supposedly rocky marriage has increased tenfold online, especially considering Melania’s reduced presence in Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign compared to 2020 and 2016.
“Her life revolves around [Barron], he’s so important to her,” Trump said of Melania. “At the same time, it also revolves around our country and the success of our country. She’s raised a lot of money for charity. She’s a private person.”
Melania Trump’s Suspicious Absence
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a close confidant of Melania Trump, recently told Page Six that Trump had stopped being “chivalrous” towards his wife. The author of Melania and Me took to X to deescalate the claims made against the couple.
“WARNING: Melania Trump was NOT at Donald’s victory party because she did NOT have to be,” she explained. “His supporters do NOT care if she is by his side or NOT, so now she does NOT have to be. NOThing more, NOThing less,” she wrote.
In another post, she said: “Let me bottom line this for you,” Wolkoff wrote. “Perception is everything to the Trump Family, so Donald’s lack of ‘chivalry’ towards Melania is quite a ‘tell.’ Chivalry for Donald was waiting for Melania to go first & ensuring she walked by his side. He’s been doing neither recently.”
On Tuesday, Melania attended an interview asking if — and when — she would be returning to the campaign ahead of the 2024 election. She kept her answer short and sweet: “Stay tuned.”
