Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marriage is over. However, that hasn’t stopped JLo from continuing her relationship with her soon-to-be ex-husband’s three children. The actor shares three kids, Violet, Fin, and Samuel, with his first wife, Jennifer Garner. During Affleck’s marriage to Lopez, the blended family reportedly got close. However, things have changed, and the Armageddon star allegedly feels uncomfortable with Lopez lavishing gifts on his children.
Sources tell In Touch Weekly that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have very different parenting styles. Affleck likes to spend time with his kids and doesn’t spoil them at all costs. Meanwhile, JLo allegedly loves to buy expensive gifts and treats for her own kids, as well as her step-children.

“They have always had vastly different styles of parenting. Ben spoils them from time to time and gives them their favorite treats, but JLo really showers them with gifts like nobody’s business,” an insider says. “She’s very much a Disneyland stepmom. She’s always picking up treats for them, she always seems to know just what will make them happy and gets a real kick out of making them smile.”
Affleck reportedly believes that Lopez’s attempts to spend money on his kids are coming across a “bit awkwardly.” He’s hoping that his children won’t grow to expect that kind of treatment. Likely, because he and Jennifer Garner have a different standard of parenting. That being said, the actor allegedly finds it classy that JLo has taken it upon herself to keep in touch with the children.
“She’s showing a lot of class, and it’s gone a long way to softening him towards her,” the source dished. “He was being really tough on her, but he’s really impressed just how much maturity and kindness she’s shown his kids and he admits it’s made him see her in a better light.”
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Ben Affleck has not been in contact with Jennifer Lopez’s two children. JLo shares kids, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Despite seemingly having a close relationship with them during the couple’s marriage, he’s said to be keeping his distance from the twins for now.
