Amongst Dark and Darker‘s many Classes, Fighter is the master of arms. Adept in many areas of combat, they can act as a stalwart shield for their allies and an unrelenting axe against their foes. However, that doesn’t mean they don’t have their shortcomings! Safely Extract from perilous dungeons with this Class with our best Dark and Darker Fighter build guide below.
Dark and Darker: Fighter Build Overview
A Fighter is the best Class that you can use the learn the ins and out of Dark and Darker. They can hold their own in both PvE or PvP scenarios, thanks to their wide gear selection. Swords, spears, shields, bows, armor, you name it. But Fighter starts out with limited gear and can’t access Spells, so it will take time to get stronger. This Class is one of the slowest ones, too, so holster your weapon often outside of fights.
Some of their Skills, while powerful, have limited use and have to be refilled at a Campfire. Although blocking and parrying can feel difficult to perform, no thanks to the game’s directional-based attacks, they’re a potent defensive tool. You can use Shield to block melee attacks and projectiles, including Spells. With that in mind, Dark and Darker Fighter is easy to pick up but takes proper planning and control to master.
Pros:
- A very versatile Class
- Easy to use
- Can use a Shield as well as a variety of weapons and armor
- Somewhat tanky
Cons:
- Not particularly good at a specific role
- Takes time to build
- Blocking and parrying is hard to master
- Can’t use Spells

Gear
A Fighter in Dark and Darker cannot use any Spells to harass or keep a safe distance against their enemies, both AI or players. For that reason, carrying a ranged weapon is a must. Obviously, a Crossbow or Longbow will be extremely useful. But a polearm like a Spear and Halberd, while having shorter reach, is also a great option.
For a defensive option, you’ll want to get Heater or Round Shield. With full Plate Armor to help you withstand most physical attacks. Falchion and Hatchet are great one-handed companions for when you use a Shield. Grab a Zweihander or Felling Axe if you want to stagger enemies with two-handed weapons. Making a “tanky, less agile Rogue” build is also a fun experiment. Try using Dual Wield and Slayer Perks, then wield Arming Sword and Plate Armor.
