Nintendo’s latest hit, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, contains quite a lot of new additions to freshen up the classic platformer series. One of them is a set of collectibles called Standees, which have to be bought with the purple-colored Flower Coins scattered all over the game’s courses. Collecting them isn’t easy, though; you can lose them if you die. Fortunately, we have found four effective ways to farm Flower Coins in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Although only one is deemed the most effective, you can try the other methods to break the monotony.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder: The Best Flower Coin Farming Methods
1. The Fastest Flower Coin Farm in Super Mario Bros. Wonder
This is the most popular and considered the best method out of all Flower Coin farms by the Super Mario Bros. Wonder community. This isn’t surprising since the level is very easy and can be basically beaten by just holding Right. As demonstrated by BloodyBook in the video below.
Head to the Expert Badge Challenge Jet Run 1 Course in Pipe-Rock Plateau (World 1). Then, just play the level while grabbing all the Flower Coins that are on your way. It should give you around 13 Coins in under a minute for every run. But if you’re running it for the first time, you should get 34 Coins instead.
2. Second Farming Strategy
Reddit user Plottwist8978 discovered this approach when running the Badge Challenge Boosting Spin Jump 1 in Petal Isles. First, just do the course normally but keep avoiding the Checkpoint flags until the third one. Grab some Coins that are ahead of the third flag, and then go back to claim the second flag. Drop down to the abyss and repeat this as often as you want or until you get bored.
Below, YouTuber GameplayGuides has made a direct comparison between Method #1 and #2. According to their calculations:
- Method #1 yields 13 Flower Coins in 44 seconds and will take you 56 minutes to farm 999 Coins.
- Method #2 yields 45 Coins in 2 minutes and will take you 47 minutes to farm 999 Coins.
3. 999 Flower Coins in Just 30 Minutes Technique
For the third one, you will want to head to the Sugarstar Trial in Shining Falls (World 3) with Nabbit. As demonstrated by Beardbear’s video below, it works similarly to the first method. All you need to do is just keep running to your Right while collecting all the Coings you come across. According to the YouTuber, it should only take 30 minutes to farm 999 Flower Coins with this Super Mario Bros. Wonder technique. Definitely faster than the previous two on paper!
4. Early Game Flower Coins Farming in Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Last but not least, from NotSoBrightGamer comes a tactic to farm Coins in the very early part of the game. Complete the first four levels in Pipe-Rock Plateau (World 1) and then die on purpose until you get a Game Over screen. You will unlock the Coins Galore Bonus Stage. Play it and focus on getting all 50 Coins on the stage.
This method should help you farm Flower Coins early in the game, but it comes with a trade-off. Since when you lose a life, you’ll lose Coins as well. For that reason, NotSoBrightGamer suggests you have less than 120 Coins when farming this area so you won’t lose too many Coins.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is now available on Nintendo Switch.
