Resident Evil as a series has never had a shortage of weapons to use. While some people prefer to carry big guns around, handguns are the staple of the franchise, and there’s a reason why. With how easy it is to obtain or craft ammunition for them, you should always carry them as your sidearm. If you like having one of those or more, we’ve prepared something for you today. Here we’ll tell you what are the best handguns to use in Resident Evil 4 Remake. If you are planning to use handguns as your primary weapon, here we’ll tell you which ones are the first ones you should get.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: Best Handguns

We’ve picked three of our favorite handguns that work great in specific situations. While you’ll be able to find one quite early, there are others that will require more work and waiting. Let’s start with the first one:

Red9

The Red9 handgun is a classic in terms of Resident Evil 4. While some might not like the design a lot, this weapon packs a punch. It uses the same ammunition as your starter handgun and does much more damage. The downside is its recoil, but you can counter that by buying the stock from the Merchant. You’ll need Spinels for the stock, and the weapon is inside the boat in the middle of the lake.

Matilda

This handgun was one of the most powerful ones back during the first title because you unlocked it after beating the game once. Named after the movie “The Professional,” this weapon will really make you feel like one. To get it, you’ll need 10 Spinels; after that, you should get its stock to improve it.

The last one we have on our list is the Broken Butterfly. This one is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, and it will pierce every enemy in any area of the title. You should be mindful of the ammunition for it, but with the crafting system. You won’t suffer that much. We can’t recommend this weapon enough, so be sure to get it as soon as you see it in stock.

And now that you know what are the best handguns to use in Resident Evil 4 Remake prioritize buying them and add them to your gear. They’ll save you from many dangerous situations and make the experience a little less scary.
