Loads of games have a great selection of mods, and Ark Survival Evolved is no exception, with some of the best mods available. Usually, you can find all sorts of mods for nearly anything you’d like added to your game. Let’s face it; if you want it, there’s a good chance other people do as well. That said, we’ve taken the time to test out and put together a list of all the best mods that can be used. Keep reading to learn more about the top 10 best mods for Ark Survival Evolved.
10. Giant Kraken Mod
The Giant Kraken Mod by HydragonofDeath adds a Giant Kraken into your game. The Giant Kraken is pretty sizeable, making it a new threat in the waters of ASE. However, it’s tameable, but only by passive methods, and it has a saddle. You can find Giant Krakens where Anglers spawn, near the depths of your maps waters.
9. The Island Extension
The Island Extension mod does what you probably think it does: extend The Island map. Must like the Valguero 2.0 mod, it creates new caves in the map and revamps some of the pre-existing ones to create better pvp base area, and even better places to explore for some of the best loot you can find.
8. SPINOJALOSAURUS Standalone Mod
The SPINOJALOSAURUS mod adds in a new creature that’s a hybrid between several other creature types. It is, for the most part, the ultimate flying creature, able to land on walls, produce wyvern milk, and even gain a hydration buff when skimming the water.
7. Shockist’s Ark Valguero 2.0
If you’re a fan of caves in ASE, then Shockist’s Ark Valguero 2.0 is the ideal mod for you. Valguero 2.0 adds additional caves into the Valguero map, and even revamps some of the older ones, making them much more enjoyable and way less buggy.
6. MonstARK: New Frontiers
The MonstARK: New Frontiers mod adds the Poborubarumu from Monster Hunter Frontier into ASE, allowing you to get a taste of the MH world. Taking the form of a wyvern, the Pobo was added into the game to act as a boss fight creature, since it has good stats and AoE buffs. However, that also makes them a bit of a pain to stumble across in the wild.
5. Blazing’s Noxcalvasaurus
Blazing’s Noxcalvasaurus adds the Noxcalvasaurus creature into ASE. The Noxcalvasaurus, much like other carnivores, is a great creature to bring along on hunting runs and for travel. Since they can spawn in loads of different areas, like the Redwoods, Jungle, Green Desert, Sunken Forest, and in both Gen maps, it’s the ideal creature mod to add to your game.
4. DNA Slicer (Mutation Mod)
The DNA Slicer mod by Ionic adds a single item into ASE. That one item, being the DNA Slicer, has a very important use. While we previously used to selectively breed dinos for mutations and spend hours on end farming for the correct ones, the DNA Slicer allows you to simply have baby dinosaurs with mutations.
3. Giga and Carcha Wild Tame
Taming a couple of the most overpowered creatures on any map in ASE is always a great idea. However, if you’ve ever paid attention to their stats pre and post-taming, you might have noticed that both the Giganotosaurus and the Carcharodontosaurus lose a ton of their max Heath and Melee Damage. The Giga and Carcha Wild Tame mod by Ochoa8a8 removed the nerf that happens when taming them.
2. Taming Effectiveness Tweak
One of the best mods I’ve ever had the pleasure of using is the Taming Effectiveness Tweak mod by CarefreeTree. This mod allows you to increase your taming effectiveness multiplier beyond the usual parameters. In turn, it allows creatures to tame with way more added levels than they previously could.
1. Isla Nycta’s Nyctatyrannus
Mods that add new creatures into ASE tend to be the most popular because, well, the same old creatures get boring every once in a while. Isla Nycta’s Nyctatyrannus adds the Nyctatyrannus Rex, Nyctatyrannus Imperator, and Nyctatyrannus Echidne, and even the Alpha Nyctatyrannus into any map you feel like playing.
Ark: Survival Evolved is now available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo consoles, and mobile devices.
