Content Warning has you face monsters and unknown entities in mysterious locations, but you don’t need to collect garbage to sell it and keep your job. Instead, you start your career to be famous on SpookTube with your friends, and for that, you can use the best mods to keep your audience entertained. Use your ship and travel to the Old World for your dream of being recognized or die trying with whatever awaits you on your way.
Content Warning: Top Mods
Only a few mods are available for Content Warning as of writing, but we’ve compiled the best and most useful mods to use with your friends.
Virality
In a standard game, the maximum number of players in co-op is four, but with this mod, you can change this limit. It also changes the size of the lobby to accommodate all your friends while waiting for the next round. However, if your friends are late, they can join the game even if you already started before. All participants must install this mod to work correctly, and to save the progression, at least four players must sleep.
VolumeBooster
There are times when co-op gets complicated when you talk to different people with different microphones and headsets, especially when one of your teammates is barely audible. Content Warning is a game in which communication is critical because it could save your life. VolumeBooster allows you to modify the audio level to hear your entire team, as well as the general volume and SFX.
Flashcard
Your camera is your primary tool as SpookTube, as you must be able to capture all the scary and strange things in the Old World. The Flashcard mod changes the length of videos you can film from the default 90 to 120 seconds, so you won’t have to worry so much if you have everything on camera for your viewers.
MoreCustomization
Make your avatar even more unique with a 128-character limit for face customization so that you can include your favorite emojis. If you don’t want to do it manually, you can copy and paste them into the terminal. You also have infinite size adjustments for your face; make it bigger, smaller, or higher. All players who want to customize their appearance must install this mod.
MakeMeRagdoll
Use the game’s physics and scare your Content Warning teammates by pretending to be dead with the MakeMeRagdoll mod. Make them believe that a monster has already attacked you and gain more views by scaring your friends. You can configure which keybinding triggers the ragdoll and how long it can last.
SkipIntroScreen
Skip the intro screen of the game and start playing right away. If you are annoyed by how long the intro is, you can configure this mod so that it never appears in your game every time you go to play.
How To Install Mods
If you want to install any mod to Content Warning, it is effortless to do since some of them have their own Mod Manager. But doing the installation manually way is also easy if you follow these steps:
- Verify on the page if the mod you want does not need another package, which you must install first.
- Download the mod, and it will appear as a .zip file in your downloads.
- Extract that file.
- Copy the file in your game directory. (If you are using Steam, go to Library, locate the game, right-click, find the Manage tab, and select Browse Local Files. This will open the Content Warning files where you must paste the mod files).
Make sure your mod has no special instructions, although these are always included in the files or on the page where you downloaded the mod from.
More mods will come out as the days go by and as more players get into Content Warning. In the meantime, enjoy recording videos of your friends being attacked by any monster and monetizing their failure to reach celebrity status.
