There are few comeback stories as inspiring as Fallout 76. When the game released, it was met with strong criticism, and for good reason. The initial offering from Bethesda was uncharacteristically unpolished and unengaging. Fast forward a few years later, and a determined, consistent effort has allowed Fallout 76 to make a complete 180. What fans previously considered to be one of Bethesda’s worst releases, now has a loyal following. In their continued efforts, Bethesda has offered fans a look at a content roadmap that details upcoming changes to the game.

The revival of Fallout 76 kicked off with the Wastelanders expansion, which notably added quest-giving NPCs to the game. But the recent release of the Steel Dawn update showed that Bethesda was determined to give the game renewed purpose.

Now, with the unveiling of a new Fallout 76 roadmap, fans can know what to expect next. First, in the Spring, Bethesda has promised to bring a whole slew of new content to the game, including nearly doubling the amount of available Daily Ops. As well, in the spirit of customization, the Spring update, as detailed in a Bethesda blog post, will include the ability to reset your character’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L abilities as well as save them, so that players can easily switch between different builds. In the same vein, the C.A.M.P system will be getting a major overhaul to allow players to switch between different projects easily.

The Summer will usher in one of the most anticipated releases in the form of the Steel Reign update. As expected, this update will continue The Brotherhood storyline with all new quests, NPCs, items, and locations. The freedom will be up to the player to choose sides and explore however they want. In addition, Legendary modules will be introduced in the summer, allowing players to craft specific Legendary items which will undoubtedly facilitate plenty of new builds.

Bethesda remained tight-lipped on the changes to come in the Fall but teased at an upcoming update and expansion to Private Worlds within Fallout 76. As well, further content will be added at this time with regards to the Daily Ops.

To round out the roadmap, the Winter will see the introduction of four-star Legendary weapons and items as well as the long-awaited C.A.M.P Pets—seemingly an expansion on the tamable animals found in Fallout 76. But that’s not all, players will also see the introduction of the Cultists of Appalachia seasonal event. If players aid the cultists in performing their rituals, they’ll be rewarded with unimaginable goods.

While the roadmap gives players something to look forward to, the updates are a long way off. In the meantime, why not check out some of our Fallout 76 guides?
