Fallout 76 Screws
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

In Fallout 76, Screws are a vital resource needed for upgrades and crafting, and due to this, you are bound to run out of them quickly. But don’t fret for in this guide, you will find a comprehensive list of all of the best locations to farm Screws in Fallout 76.

Where to Find the Best Fallout 76 Screw locations

It would seem a baby cart has taken a liking to my brother

To get screws in Fallout 76, you’re either going to need to scrap items or loot them off specific enemies like Wendigos and Mega Sloths. As for items, there are quite a few that can give you screws upon being scrapped, but the best by far would be the following listed below:

  • Globes
  • Desk Fans
  • Type Writers
  • Clipboards
  • Toy Cars
  • Hubcap
  • Giddyup Buttercup
  • Giddyup Buttercup body

Players should also note that some of these items can be purchased from certain NPCs, and they can often sell other junk items that can also be scrapped for screws. However, we would recommend going to our farming locations as it would be far more cost-effective and won’t drain your precious caps. That said if you keep reading below we will list all of the best screw farming locations in Fallout 76.

#8 Charleston Capitol Building

Fallout 76 Screws
You can find this room in the DMV section of The Charleston Capitol Building

Inside the main building section in the Charleston Capitol Building, players can potentially find around twelve typewriters scattered about on various desks. If you’re not sure where to go, check out our image above.

#7 Charleston Herald building

Fallout 76 Screws
This spot is on the floor after going up the ramp in the main section of the Herald building.

At this location found in the town of Charleston, players can potentially find up to four typewriters, a Carlisle typewriter, and two desk fans. Check out the image above for an example of where to look.

#6 National Radio Astronomy Research Center

This spot is in one of the rooms on the second floor of the radio building. Also, check desks and cabinets in the other rooms for other screw items.

The next location can be found in the savage divide region of Fallout 76 and is currently occupied by some Super Mutants so be ready to take them out. Once you deal with the hostile mutants, you will then be free to loot your heart’s content and you will find a pretty wide variety of the junk items you are looking for. Further, we recommend checking the second floor in the rooms with desks and cabinets for desk fans and globes. See the image above for an example of where to look.

#5 Sugar Grove

Fallout 76 Screws
This is in the front entrance to Sugar Grove and when you walk in, two desk fans should be on both desks in the room. Also, more fans and screw items can be found further in the building.

Moving on, you won’t need to go far for this next location as is it is only northeast of the previous location. Furthermore, if you search both the National Radio Astronomy Research Center and Sugar Grove locations you can potentially find up to twelve desk fans and four antique globes, which if you manage to find that exact amount will net you around 20 screws. That said, when searching Sugar Grove we recommend checking the front desks, Office tables, and the other desks scattered around the building further in. Like with the other locations if you are still unsure where to look check our image above for a general idea.

#4 Abandoned Bog Town

Fallout 76 Screws

Located in the Cranberry Bog region of Fallout 76, the office building in this abandoned town is notably a good source of screws with its abundance of Typewriters. Also, players can find quite a few clipboards here too, so if you need springs this would also be a good place to look. Also if you are having trouble finding the building, head to the tallest building in the town and climb the fire escape to the roof. On top of the roof, there will be an open elevator shaft and this is where you will find the entrance to the office building.

#3 Wendigo Cave

This is the entrance to the cave and you will have to make your way all to the end to find the windigo that spawns here.

In Fallout 76 wendigos when killed can potentially drop up to 16 screws, thus making them a good way to farm screws in the game. Due to this, we recommend hitting the wendigo cave to continuously farm the wendigo that often spawns there. You can do this by repeatedly joining new servers after killing the wendigo at the cave until you have enough screws for whatever you need them for. Also, there are a few other locations in Fallout 76 these nasty creatures can spawn at and you can learn what they are with our Wendigo guide at Fallout 76 Cryptids: The Wendigo – Everything You Need To Know.

#2 Robco Research Center

Fallout 76 Screws

Similar to other locations on our list, at the Robco Research Center you can potentially find some desk fans, clipboards, and various other screw items. Also, players can find quite a few legendary enemies at this location so if you need those for either the items or challenges this would be a great spot to look. Moving on, when searching this location check desks, containers, and other locations that logically might have the items you are looking for.

#1 White Spring Resort

Fallout 76 Screws
Inside on the right of the Protectron is where the toy car and horse will be. Players should also note they can sometimes buy screw items from the merchant here too.

For our last location, you will have to visit the White Spring Resort in the middle of the map. Once at the resort head inside and find the Captain Kids store in the market area and look for 1 toy car and a Giddyup Buttercup. Players should also note like with the Wendigo Cave this spot would also be a good place to server hop to continuously farm screws.

After this last location that will be everything, we have for you regarding where to farm Fallout 76 screws. We hope you found our list helpful and if you did, please let us know in the comments below and also leave any feedback you may have regarding the guide. That’s all for now, good luck out there and stay safe vault dweller!
