Beyonce has been dragged into the middle of her husband Jay-Z‘s recent scandal. The rapper was accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl alongside disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs back in 2000. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has denied the allegations. However, fans are drawing their own conclusions about the scandal. Meanwhile, Jay and Bey put on a united front this week as they walked the red carpet with their oldest daughter, Blue Ivy, for the Lion King prequel film, Mufasa.
During the outing, fans couldn’t help but notice that Beyonce’s $5 million engagement ring seemingly had a big upgrade. The singer has been seen wearing the expensive emerald-cut diamond throughout the years. However, this time around it appeared that Beyonce was either wearing a new ring, or that her old ring was modified with two large diamonds on the sides.
According to The Daily Mail, gem wholesaler Julia Chafe, pointed out the difference in Beyonce’s diamond ring. She also concluded that the singer seemed to begin wearing the new piece of jewelry back in September. After Chafe shared the news of Beyonce’s ring on social media, fans began to complain about the cost of the diamond.
Beyonce Gets Engagement Ring Upgrade As Jay-Z Sexual Assault Allegations Heat Up
Many pointed out that the ring could do things such as pay for kids’ college tuitions, feed the hungry around the country, and change others’ lives. Meanwhile, the consensus online was that the ring was “ugly.” Some believed it may have been a way for Jay-Z to apologize for dragging her name through the mud with his scandal.
“When the jewelry and scandal grow at the same rate,” one person commented.
“She got the Kobe Bryant upgrade,” another person stated, referencing Kobe’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, getting a large ring following his sexual assault scandal.
“Nothing says I’m sorry I got caught like a big diamond ring,” a third person wrote.
“This ring is revolting, just like Jay-Z’s allegations. Shameless,” a fourth comment read.
Despite Jay-Z’s proclamation of innocence, Beyonce is said to be putting on a brave face. Sources tell the Daily News that she’s not letting the sexual assault claims bring her down. She reportedly refuses to let it destroy her image. Instead, she’s focused on her career. This includes performing during the halftime show at an NFL Christmas Day game. She’s also set for a Cowboy Carter Christmas special on Netflix.
Jay-Z has revealed that he plans to fight the allegations. All the while, Diddy is currently behind bars for the allegations as well as many others. He is currently awaiting trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
For her part, Beyonce is showing an unbothered face to the public. However, it’s likely that things are tense at home as she and Jay-Z are now dealing with a lot of heat as they try to keep the negative attention off of their children.
