Whether they are bringing out favorite comics to life, saving and reviving old series, or simply adding old movies to their catalog, Netflix is the king of nostalgic entertainment. As if they couldn’t rise any higher, they managed to revive the one man who could make science class in school bearable, as Bill Nye stars in the upcoming education Netflix show Bill Nye Saves the World.
Nye has always been the corny yet cool science teacher everyone loved, from cooky jokes to arguing with the narrator, the man has always had an unmatched candor and charm for being primarily known as an educator. Thankfully Bill Nye seems to be much of the same, with plenty of typical Nye comedy strung throughout the trailerfist – from fist bumps to his endless array of bowties – the upcoming series also looks to have evolved with its previous demographic.

The trailer reveals the show will focus on a number of unique scientific topics, including Sex, Global Warming, GMO’s, Technology and Alternative Medicines. Mr. Nye won’t be alone in these endeavors though, as he has a number of different guest stars and recurring characters to help him tackle these scientific conundrums.
Nye will receive expert help from everyone from former Xploration Outer Space host Emily Calandrelli – who will be Bill Nye’s official correspondent – to special guests Zach Braff and Donald Faison (Eagle!). My personal hope is to see multiple appearances from renowned food show presenter and television personality Alton Brown, who helped make food nutrition class as fun as Bill Nye made Science.
I for one can’t wait for Bill Nye Saves The World Netflix’s debut on April 21st, as my life has been lacking prominent, fun educational entertainment for far too long. Be sure to check back to the site for our official review!
